Evaporative cooling in strawberries

It's been hot the last few days and some growers are reporting sunscald injury on certain varieties due to the excessive heat. This can be managed using your irrigation system for evaporative cooling. My recommendation is to turn on your irrigation when the temperature goes above 28 degrees Celsius and run it for 1-1.5 hrs or until the temperature in the row canopy drops below 24 degress Celsius.
