On-Farm Weather Station Departmental Funding

We have been fielding a handful of questions on the model of weather station that is compatible with the already established NS Farm Weather Netnetwork. Farms can now avail of funding for weather stations under the Departmental Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change Program (BMP 92, page 8).  https://novascotia.ca/programs/environmental-stewardship-and-climate-change/escc-program-guidelines.pdf

Under the previous program, NSDA funded and Perennia supported the installation of Davis Vantage Pro2 stations.  These stations are compatible with and easily added to Perennia’s Farm Weather Tools – Nova Scotia Farm Weather map https://farmdatatools.ca/, and for those using PomeBlight, it can be added to your blight monitoring platform.

Orders can be made directly through Davis: https://www.davisinstruments.com/pages/vantage-pro2
